September 5th




At the beginning of class we went over the following deadlines:

  • 4 People---> 3 Strengths
  • 1/2 page blog post on how you plan on spending your 10 hrs.
  • BLOG POSTS MUST BE DONE BEFORE CLASS
  • We also signed up for service learning presentation, if you were absent please see Tia

For class we broke up into groups of three to discuss the readings.

Deidre presented the DIE model: Describe, Interpret, Evaluate

The majority of the class was filled with discussion of diversity and our reactions to traditions

 Ex. Eating habits from different cultures: fingers, eating with mouth open, no eye contact (out of respect)

Aug. 31

Two Blogs due today: Kouzes exercises, daily blog on other readings.

The reading discussed in class was:

Basically, this model helps us to notice everything taking place around us. For example, how are you welcomed to your Service learning? How did they make you feel? how was the activity planned? Was the program successful? How did the leader lead? exc.
